How we research a category
Every category gets its own research pass. We read the full listing detail available for each product — specifications, ingredients and dosages, materials and build detail, sizing, capacity, included accessories, warranty and retailer information — and we read it across the competing options in that category rather than one product at a time.
That comparison is where the work happens. We look at how a product's specs stack up against close alternatives, what it costs relative to what it offers, how established the brand and retailer are, and which claims are actually supported by the listing. Categories are judged on their own terms: creatine is assessed on form and dose, a treadmill on motor, deck and fold design, a shoe on drop, cushioning and intended use.
How rankings and recommendations work
Recommendations reflect that category-specific research and comparison, plus the fit between a product and the shopper it is being shown to — goal, budget, training setting, and experience level. Where the catalog allows, we also keep categories varied rather than filling a rail with one brand.
Rankings are editorial judgment based on available evidence, not a lab result. We do not claim to have physically tested a product unless it is explicitly marked Fitnos Tested. We do not run laboratory analysis, we do not offer medical validation, and no recommendation guarantees a particular outcome — results depend on your training, nutrition, and consistency.
